Kenosis in Prayer

Seeing Anew and Clearly

Page 2

What are we left with? We are left with neither this nor that, neither here nor there, neither God nor not-God, neither positive nor negative, … The contemplative is led into the kenosis, sharing the kenosis of Christ. But she goes there only by being weaned off the very theology that helped her detach from affirmative religion.

Everything now becomes One Taste, Ever-Present Word, Pervasive Glory, and unutterable Peace and Joy. In this the negative of eternal Word and positive of incarnated Christ meet, as Christ Jesus is born again in you.

Now, you can rightly ignore everything I have written today. Indeed, the hope is that this writing only leads you to One Taste. When the Veil is removed, all we can do, finally, is experience Solitude and Silence. We are plunged into Love! Hallelujah!

When you are led to respond to the Holy Spirit by releasing all word and thought, even the felt-sense that prayer must be religious, follow the Spirit. Let go. Rest. Prayer prays through you. Prayer becomes not separate from, but the same as Existence. You return Home, a Home that is Everywhere and in Everyone. You see, yes, but you see anew and clearly. You see so much more and better than those who claim to see. And do not try to explain this to them, for they will not understand and are not ready to hear. Blessed is the man or woman who can truthfully say, “I no longer see.” That person sees!
