How Love Grows

Love In All We Do

Jan 19, 2006

Saying For Today: … rarely grows love ... but in the small done from great love.

Beloved, if only I could show you
This love, through some great deed,
I would be satisfied.

“Friend, rarely grows love,
in the great done, but in the small done
from great love.”

A whisper was as clear
In His hear, of my affection, as clear
As thunder all around, or moving
A mountain from here to there.

“We must not grow weary of doing little things for the love of God, who looks not on the great size of the work, but on the love in it.”
*Brother Lawrence

“Perfect simplicity consists … in having only one aim in all our actions—to please God in all things.”
*Jane de Chantal, in Wendy M. Wright, “Simplicity in the Salesian Sources, Salesian Living Heritage (Spring/Fall 1989).

Spiritual Exercise
For this day, consider all you do as a means of loving God. Esteem nothing too small to be the gift you give.
